only another one bites in to the dust is a great song, otherwise only The game nothing else, also no nice artwork
-
In which Queen follows up seven absolutely brilliant albums in a row by massively shitting the bed and never recovering. 😢

Queen - The Game
————————————
Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1970. Their classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass). Their earliest works were influenced by progressive rock, hard rock and heavy metal, but the band gradually ventured into more conventional and radio-friendly works by incorporating further styles, such as arena rock and pop rock.

The Game is the eighth studio album by the British rock band Queen. It was released on 30 June 1980 by EMI Records in the UK and by Elektra Records in the US. The Game features a different sound from its predecessor, Jazz (1978). The Game was the first Queen album to use a synthesizer (an Oberheim OB-X).

Queen is possibly one of the most known 70s/80s rock band and this album is one of the reasons for that, with amazing group vocals and legendary lyricism The Game is truly one of Queen's better Albums. My favourite songs in this are 'Play The Game' and 'Crazy Little thing called Love' while 'another one bites the dust' is also an amazing track. I find that this album, while great, incorporates bass a bit too much, at some points it felt as if I were going to go deaf (maybe because its on loud volume but anyway) the album is definitely very bassy, if you are into that and are a bass head this is an album for you with 'Another one bites the dust' having one of the best basslines I've heard in a while. Personally the bass is not for me.

If you are quick.... The Game picture disc, only 1980 copies for the world...only at Queen online store... -
I wonder why Queen didn't go for a 40th anniversary special release for this. There would've been plenty demos, remixes, alternative versions, and archive material around to include.

Unable to identify my copy, need help please. Side A deadwax = SE-513-A GED [Brian Gardner flower and bird symbol] 0-15M3-4. Side B deadwax = 0-2 (scratched out) 0-3 SE-513-B GED [Brian Gardner flower and bird symbol]. The inner sleeve shows a picture of a bulldog on a wood floor with a "Two-up" game. Inner sleeve reverse shows album lyrics on background of same wood floor but without the dog. Cover is foil with black hype sticker in upper left corner.

Sounds amazing! I started off with a Dutch pressing from a record fair and it was a bit dull-sounding - I thought maybe the album was just recorded that way. But today I picked up a UK original just to compare, and it has so much more life to it. Maybe I simply had a worn copy to begin with. Anyway, this is a great recording.

I guess mine is another variant?

I got the original US LP with the shiny cover. Since I used to live on the beach, it immediately got a kind of "white rust"...which is a pity...
