Davis' strongest session with Blue Note with a strong quartet consisting of a young Horace Silver, Art Blakey and Percy Heath. 1954 was a good year for Miles Davis; Not only was he was winning his battle with Heroin addiction, he laid down some immortal music. Whilst not necessarily quite as tough as the material laid down the same year on "Walkin", "Bag's Groove" or the "Modern Jazz Giants" albums, this is still really good quality. I would recommend getting hold of the Complete Blue Note Recordings as they cover the three Blue Note releases plus alternative takes.
