Dead quiet pressing. Sounds amazing on my system. Parents used to play this for me and my brother when we went to bed, glad to have it on wax

Edited 5 years agoA complete time capsule of an album that sounded like nothing else at the time - there is much pondering (STILL) about how it came to be SO massive? However those of us who had been enjoying the Ibizan summer prior to its October 19th UK 1988 release soon had it on loop in our various hot hatchbacks of the era. Storms in Africa got played over and over in mine as a post rave / gig driving home soundtrack. Indeed the entire album soundtracked many a circuit of the M25 before heading back up north and attempting re-entry into the regular 9 to 5. Of course many other people and demographics got the expansive soundscapes and ethereal vocals that had been preceded by 4AD acts like the cocteau twins. But whereas the Twins were also edgy and sometimes challenging Enya worked for almost EVERYONE. Thinking more of the energy of the times and the preceding yuppie era it was clear that much of society just needed a soundtrack to chill out and reconnect with... This was the soundtrack of our re-entry. I have seen tracks off this album slay the crowd at the cafe del mar sunset in Ibiza and in the process reduce grown men to tears... Timeless Classic
