The mix of the recording is bad with no dynamic range. Having this on vinyl and listening on a proper system it has no benefits compared to a digital version. I wanted to take the record off after one song, especially the drums are awful.

Ive read a fair few of the comments for this album overall but they are pretty scarce for this release.

First time listening to this album since upgrading turntable and cartridge.

I have this press only. not got or heard the reissue. Am curious does anyone have both?

The bad comments are down to its mastering, the love for loudness, it’s label/cover quality, you get the idea.

The production isn’t what audiophiles would expect. Nowhere near, however the mastering for this is where this release differs to the CD.

Vinyl even without a clean, sounds dead quiet. PressingIs dead centre, sounds much better than what was released on CD. On my new system, it is a massive difference over the low Dynamic range digital version. There is proper separation between the instruments, synths and backing vocals/harmony’s are a big example especially on Stockholm syndrome. Was listening to it as I wrote this.

It is never gonna be like Fleetwood mac rumours in sound. No matter what format you have it on. Unless countless other albums where someone gets the original mixes and does a solid for our ears. Personally I think the tracks on this album are immense, first album (showbiz) muse hit the ground running, then they were on fire with origin and this release.

Original UK pressing, great quality vinyl, best mastering of the source material, cut decent so stylus tracks the music pretty well and sounds far superior than the digital release, not ear candy production but the songs make up for that, and some of that was engineered to sound the way it does (such as quiet parts) just accept maybe it’s what was intended for us to hear.

Let’s see what 2023 brings for this amazing albums 20th xD

My cd copy of the original release has the track listing wrong on the back. I believe this was deleted on release day? Any ideas which listing on here matches mine?

I am a proud owner of the WB 82564-69094-45.
48733-1. The entire album is a master peace. A record that every Muse fan should own. Play it loud and proud. A+
