Edited one year agoThe album itself is awesome, all songs, an absolute non topped classic, incredible both musically and "spiritually" and the sound/ production creates a perfect enviroment for this monstrous musical creation, despite of the fact that it results a bit hard to hear all what's going on with every instrument sometimes, but the ambience achieved is like a whole dark world of magic where you can get lost.
However, I have lowered the rating for this particular release due to some circumstances: the remastered sound is worse than the original, IMO, the beautiful original artwork, in both front and back cover, looses a lot with that blue filter used for this reissue, as well as for the silvering of every letter and the Emperor logo.
Bathory and Mercyful Fate covers are great, a bonus indeed for the release, but these are beasts of a different mood, I don't like them alongside the album tracks, It would have been better to place them in a different disk with, maybe, a few more bonus tracks. Anyway, these tracks make this version mandatory for any Emperor lover, and it's a cheap release, I have it plus another five ITNE versions.
