Edited 7 months agoThis album generally leaves to be desired.
It seems that periodically Jim has to drum up and cry out
his anger about the entire world. Already once,
on "Sparkle in the Rain", were the arrangements unfulfilling,
as show the far far better later live versions of these songs.
That album at least offered some diversity, and thus
"Good news from the next world" is likely even below,
albeit it does not reach the former's low-light "The Kick
Inside of Me" (and probably some other noise-blasters,
like "Ghostrider" from the preceding "Real Life").
If you know the two singles "She's a River" and "Hypnotised",
the rest is the same. You can equally well "enjoy" the loud
tracks on Foreigner's "Agent Provocateur". I rarely listen
to this, and I cant make it in one go (have to pause, my head
gets full). I'd have given only two stars, but tolerating the
fan base of the "hard" Simple Minds...
