Notes

Issued on custom CBS labels and with a printed lyrics inner sleeve.

Initial quantities included a poster and a sticker on the front cover stating: 'Free Poster Inside FMLN 2'. Some copies have two different hype stickers (See images) rather than just one as seen on main image.

A later pressing replaced the initial rectangular poster of the band with another reproducing the front cover photo instead.

- Copies with golden promo stamp on rear of sleeve also exist. -

Another winner! Wow, this destroys every remaster and reissue I’ve ever owned both vinyl and digital. Big sound, thumping drums with full midrange, no harshness at high volume. It’s recorded on the quiet side so you need to crank the volume control a bit to make the sound come alive in all its raw glory.

4.27 rating, wtf? I am listening to a NM (media) A3 / B2 right now & it is absolutely amazing...destroys the US RE from the 80s we have owned which did not sound bad either. So much detail, no sibilance, instrumentation / separation, & big soundstage...lovely playback, swear you are in the studio type experience. This pressing, for me, avoids all the probs of mastering / pressing in this era.

Not long after 'Combat Rock' was released, there was a legal issue with "Inoculated City" where they inserted a commercial for '2,000 Flushes' in the middle of the song without obtaining proper clearances, and Epic/CBS/Sony was required to remove it in subsequent reissues. (Ha!)

Albums with the original content should have been considered somewhat rare, but close to 100 worldwide releases were never changed.

Out of the 204 various versions of this album listed here, most of the older CDs have the 2:10 edited version, while others do not indicate any track durations to help clear this up.

Then there are about two dozen vinyl pressings that have the edited version, but the B-side labels weren't updated and all erroneously indicate 2:40. In these cases, you must play the track to find out.

Sometimes the description in the notes is correct, but the Discogs track duration is not.

To further confuse the issue, around the year 2000, the '2,000 Flushes' commercial was restored to newer reissues!

So the edit of "Inoculated City" might actually be the rarer version of the two!

This might also apply to the 3 uncleared Robert DeNiro samples from 'Taxi Driver' used in track #5, "Real Angel Dragnet", but I cannot confirm this by the track durations...only by actually playing the track!

My Version is 1982.....but has CBS 328727 Red CBS Labels on both sides. Matrix runouts on A Side is CBS 32787 - 5 and on B side it has 32787 with a mis etch of 'FLMN' crossed out and then endorsed with an etched FMLN above the crossed out mis etch and then B3 to the side. Came with the poster ;)
