Edited 2 years agoThe music is not bad excepting a few slightly cheesy keyboard sounds. The singing on side one is not great but improves noticably on side two. I can see why this was not a massive seller and is only known to dedicated Floyd fans. The guitar playing is pretty good as is the keyboard work but the songwriting on the whole is not that great. He might have been better off doing either an instrumental epic or hiring in a really good singer on the standout tracks. Its kinda like hearing Floyd in the rehearsal studio before Roger turns up and puts his teen angst poetry all over everything. The latter part of side two is what the whole album should have been, an instrumental Floyd classic with jazz funk fusion guitar, keys and sax battling it out. Not a complete waste of a fiver!

Edited 3 years agoI just bought the album wet dreams and side one is on both sides I think it’s definitely a misprint. Has anybody heard of this. I finally got the album on vinyl side one is twice I’m kind of disappointed but somethings definitely going on. 1978 version

I purchased this from Virgin Records in Newcastle the day it was released. It never troubled the charts, but for the Pink Floyd fan who thinks the group's unique haunting sound is down to Richard Wright's playing, this is a lovely listen. It blends what might be 'middle sections' from unwritten PF songs ("Cat Cruise' & 'Waves'), jazz-funk (Funky Deux) & restrained love songs (Summer Elegy). A very underrated and much-loved release.

Edited 5 years agoI love this album. Richard Wright was a masterful keyboard player and composer who never got the attention he deserved.

Edited 6 years agoLargely ignored by me, I was never into the diluted parts of a group, I always hunted for the sum of the whole, in the solo efforts. I matured a little bit in my listening and this is actually not a bad at all. You can really hear the influence RW had on the Floyd sound, there are even the snips of what we now call The Endless River contained herein, among others. Even the Floyd missed that one, normally itting to finding something on one or the others solo album. Thanks Rick miss that piano...........
