Notes
Inital copies included a poster of "Work 219: Landscape XX" (also known as "Penis Landscape") by Swiss artist HR Giger and a sticker on the shrinkwrap with the tracklist and a (sarcastic) warning note. An Alternative Tentacles catasert was also included.
The ensuing controversy resulted in the poster being removed from later copies. These included a poster order form / PMRC info insert, and the sticker was stamped "Banned" in red. Some later copies still included the poster.
This version's identifying points include:
- dark chocolate red AT label (vs repress versions' bright burgundy).
- "45" on AT label in a small font.
- rounded upper corners on inner sleeve.
- No "Made in Canada" on inner sleeve.
A repress exists with identical runouts but different details: Dead Kennedys - Frankenchrist
Track times do not appear on release.

Anyone know how many of the 1st pressing with poster were released before being pulled? If anyone has a order from for sale message me. I have a cover in shrink and OG poster we can trade for.

Edited 2 years agoIn my opinion the poster isn't worth paying for, as much as I am a big fan of Giger, I think it's a fairly average piece of art
-one of his weakest and I think it contributes little in the way of context to the LP as a whole, the Dead Kennedy's music, Biafra's lyrics or as a comment/reaction to society at the time.
If the intention was to set out to shock people back then, it achieved just that, and far more than
Biafra probably intended when the whole thing blew up in ways no one imagined would happen,
and I think many people of any age would probably still be shocked by it today, even though you could
probably find images on the internet which are far more disturbing. -
Edited 3 years agoForget all the background about the trial, the Geiger poster, or the PMRC; this is just a bold, innovative, and brilliant punk-rock record. Pushing the genre's boundaries, expressing a dystopian vibe across the different tunes, and finishing with a rip-roaring hardcore number that serves as a searing national indictment. Phenomenal record nearly 40 years later.

I'm just here to laugh at the marketplace notes, and ask if the original poster is worth paying that much more for, considering this is one of the greatest punk records to come out of the 80's. C'mon..

I found the CD version at my local record store only for $6. The packet had a thing we're a could send this thing to get a original poster that came with the album. Love the song's and all that mostly the sound effects on Jock-O-Rama. Mine didn't have a warning sticker so not really sure why the vinyl showed does but the CD I have doesn't. Should buy it if really into Jello's words and such.

Probably an ultra long shot if ever there was one, but does anyone have the ORIGINAL hype sticker? I'd need it to complete my copy. I have the (absolutely pristine) Giger art and a merch form.
