Recently revisited this gem in the early catalog(dare I mention best era of Pinhas/Heldon). I never really took to this release having a penchant for the early Heldon release Allez-Teia and Electric Guerilla as two classics...However this is definitely worth ownership if only for the 2nd track Dedicated to KC (King Crimson?) a knee weakening trip into hard prog /fusion territory replete with amazing bass performances and Heldon's wall of exquisite electric guitar. Music on this release seems more prog rock leaning tho there are still plenty of tracks with synthesizer noodling this one feels really tight band on a collaborative level. Not sure why this is listed as a Pinhas release when it clearly overlaps the Heldon landscape and quite well!

Obviously, the intriguing title "The Western Wail" is just a typo and should read "The Western Wall". The error on the original Pulse release was even copied on later reissues. The spelling is however correct on the sampler Richard Pinhas / Heldon - Perspective - Compilation 1976-1982.
