This 'White Vinyl' version sounds much better than the plain Bio Black, but still needed a thorough cleaning to remove surface debris from shipping. That being said, there is still a lot of distortion and surface noise (especially track 2 side A) and I have real concerns about Bio Vinyl when it comes to fidelity.

Per THE CURE website : 180g heavyweight white bio vinyl. Mastered by Brian Lucey and Bernie Grundman. This release, however, has Miles Abbey Rd in the deadwax....so it must be Miles. Now I need a BG because I thought THATS what I was ordering. Even the site is confused. After a clean it sounds great. No distortion on my copy...however the Ultrasonic baths left a fair amount of grime. I'd clean em folks. Sound was really good on my system <All 70s gear Sansui 800 deck with Orto Blue cart Halferspeakers Adcome Amp>

Edited 5 months agoThe 2 x 12" runs more quietly and has more dynamics, but I love the diff. mix from the white one !!!!
was a bit disappointed because it crackled a lot in the quieter parts and between the tracks.
washed it twice with the Clear Audio Double Matrix and 'relaxed' it with the AFI-Flatter. - the crackling is now almost gone at side B
side A is unfortunately still provided with a lot of crackling at quiet parts.

Did anyone else's copy come with a slight warp? Mine has a bit of a wobble. Thankfully it doesn't effect play. Still unsure if I should purchase that double LP as a playing copy or not. Anyone on here have both to compare?

On a back-to-back test, this White (Miles master) pressing is cut hotter and the drums and vocal seem more forward than the Grey Marble (Grundman master) version. Our anonymous test subject voted for the white disc, but only by a hair.
It's a good album. At first I was perplexed by the sound: There is alot of thick sonic layering, but the vocals are so clear and all the detail is in there. Worth a listen. -
Spectacular album! In look, sound, quality and best of all, really good tunes! Bring on the next tour Robert!
