these ecorecords are a total hit or miss. i’ve bought 3 so far and 2 were damaged new from the factory. not very good odds.
i picked this one up recently and it sounds really nice once the music starts, but a section of the lead in groove is totally missing and if i don’t drop the needle directly onto the beginning of the first song, it won’t play properly. hard to explain, because i’ve never seen a pressing abnormality like this before, but really bad factory error.
i also bought the rush of blood ecorecord. the first one i got had the center hole so off that the entire record had noticeable pitch issues. brought that one back and replaced it and the second one was ok.
as for sound quality, they both sound really nice. quiet, barely any pops or clicks (after a good cleaning), the sound stage is nice, and the mastering is done well. no inner groove distortion and a nice balance with tones.
not sure if the injection mold process they use for these opposed to the usual stamping process is causing more quality issues with these ecorecords, but for me so far it’s been a 33% success rate.

Edited 2 months agoi'm really happy to have this fantastic record, this is a great album, every song is an instant hit and the sound quality on this pressing is amazing, clean and well-balanced, Chris Martin's vocals really shine on this pressing.

Incredibly good pressing, I hear layers and details I've never heard before. The album is super strong, only good songs. What a pleasure to play.

Is the sound quality a bargain compared to some of the earlier reissues? I have a Netherlands press from around 2017. If so I might consider picking one of these up

I really like these injection moulded releases :)
This is my 2nd IM record - really good stuff. Hope to see many more releases manufactured this way. -
Besides the music, which is the best Coldplay album in my opinion, I’ve never heard such a fantastic sounding record. If you get the chance to buy this reissue then do it .

This album sounds absolutely incredible. It honestly sounds better than any other album in my collection. I’m blown away.

Edited 6 months agoI’ve been wanting this album for a while. It’s pretty much the only Coldplay album I love front to back. Very nostalgic for me and gets me in the feels in a very specific way. I only love specific tracks from their other records…anyway, a lot of people complain about ecovinyl but this sounds stellar. I swear this sounds audiophile quality. It doesn’t say on the packaging, but I do not hear any surface noise. The mastering on this is really good. You can really hear every detail clearly. The cymbals and hi-hats on the drums are crystal clear. The reverb gives it space and the soundstage is really good. The bass sits really well in the mix. Songs like “sparks” and “trouble” sound amazing. This might be in the top sounding records in my collection. I’m very surprised by this.
As far as the packaging goes…I always put my vinyl in poly sleeves that I buy separately so even tho it’s not the best packaging….not a crazy negative if I’m going to be honest. My vinyl had no scuffs and was very clean. I’m really happy with this reissue. I can recommend this pressing without hesitation especially for the price. This thing sounds amazing.
