Legendary. There's no other word to describe this EP. Every track has something going for it: "Still Lets Me Down" with its iconic intro and chilled vibes, "Luv & Run" with its frantic beats, the remix of "Maxi(mun) Style" which is a much darker spin on the original song, and "Airfreshner" which requires no words. One of the best Jungle releases ever.

Edited 13 years agoYeah am in agreement with the two reviews below, this, Shell 001 and the Dime a Dozen EP are absolutely essential parts of any hardcore/jungle collection, (not to detract from the other releases on this label, all of which have merit.) This and the two aforementioned are consistently brilliant and worth every penny spent.

Have to agree with double-happiness, this is quality. This is the darkish remix of Maximum Style: it's probably my least favourite, as all of the charm and beauty of the other versions is replaced, with not a single Disco sample in sight. 'Still Let's Me Down' is a thumping musical effort that was caned back in the day. For me, the standout is 'Air Freshener', which is quite simply one of the most charming Jungle tunes ever released. 'There is Darkness, there is light' - marvellous. The tune has one of the best drops in all of Jungle, although the musical meanderings later in the tune do lessen its impact on the dancefloor.

Humm yes I'm not suprised to see so many people are looking for this, it's an absolute classic, d'n'b at it's finest in every way... If I got seperated from my copy I would just have to go out and buy another, no hesitation! It's the warmth and depth of the production, the sheer soulfulness of the sampling, the evident determination to squeeze every last ounce of sound quality out of the mix, that really makes this EP stand out from the crowd. And oddly out of the five tracks (five!), there is actually quite a variety from dark synths and bass drums on one hand to uplifting vocals and a funky, soulful feel on the other... Intelligent, mature production values but a sense of fun and playfulness in the samples and drums too... Outstanding.
