This copy is very good. Mine is a double Flipback
-1 HO side one / -1 OA side 2.
Sounds lively and raw. -
Uses the original -1/-1 UK Cut. Sounds alright. Kind of rough as a matter of fact, I wonder if a later cut sounds any better. I prefer this album in mono anyways, but the stereo is a fun listen.

Edited 4 years agoThis early 70's Stereo reissue of the fab four's 3rd studio album came only a year after the group's public break up, giving fans young and old the opportunity to update their music collection. The first album by The Beatles to feature all original songs written by Lennon & McCartney 'A Hard Days Night' sees the band form a tighter sound to go with their rock n' roll image, leading it to be one of the all time great records of the 20th century.
Created primarily to coincide with the movie of the same name 'A hard Days Night' has the distinction of including songs from the film on side A and new recordings on side B, creating something of a treat for fans at the time. Each song manages to capture perfectly the mood between the band and their many experiences since being thrown into the spotlight, including wildly paced anthems like 'Can't Buy me Love', 'I Should Have Known Better' & 'When I Get Home' only to be broken up by their softer side with the ballad-like 'And I Love Her', 'If I Fell' and more. It's no surprise that the side featuring the songs from the movie have a catchier tinge to them, but the latter part of the album includes some real cult gems including the cowbell infused 'You Can't Do That' and the duelling vocals of 'Any Time At All' proving that even their lesser known works bear some credence.
Now it's true that since then some of the song's lyrical content may have aged, but with the catchy riffs and bopping beat oozing from it's runtime you can't help but sing along to this masterpiece. Though since then this record has had reissue after reissue to the point where this series of pressings may seem a bit redundant, but if you manage to come across this edition in a good enough condition it's well worth investing in as the master tapes would have still been in fairly good nick to provide an incredible sound quality, so if you're the kind of fan that likes to hunt down the dusty scented dog eared formats of yesteryear then you could do far worse than giving this one a listen.
