Edited 2 months agoam I going mad or is the guitar solo/ breakdown sampling or replaying a section from Shuggie Otis Freedom Flight?!

I absolutely adore the mad professor version. Just trying to imagine the reaction on a hyped crowd when the drums come in several minutes into the track. The original is a thing of beauty of course.

Edited 3 months agoThe original E2-E4 is one of the greatest electronic releases, or releases in any genre, of all time, so any attempt to cover it will almost inevitably end in dissapointment. For me, it feels that each successive attempt has led to a dilution of the original's spirit, though Sueno Latino's does best in reinventing the track, adding a rave energy and ecstasy euphoria to the mix. This version is solid and enjoyable, if uninspired, with pleasant billowing pads replacing Manuel Göttsching's pulsating synths and stunning guitar improvisations. As a side note I see lots of other versions getting a mention: Tenaglia's deep house 1992 effort is another good one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xU5BChkpYHU

Remixes and cover versions allow great tracks to get played out again, in new settings... I'm with the majority who are happy to hear this echoing down the years.
Also a shout out to DJ Duke for his very capable tribute, it worked for me

Definitely one of the biggest releases of the year.
In of other tracks that sample the original Louis Botella - Sueño Latino is worth a mention. -
