In my opinion , stricly perfect 👌
It sounds large, depth , deep in bass , very instinctive.
It totally kill my ORG 45 by Bernie...😬 -
Compared to my 1969 repress https://discogs.librosgratis.biz/release/4027526-John-Coltrane-Ol%C3%A9-Coltrane, its much better in every aspect - bass, dynamics, details.
My copy is silent, flat, just perfect. -
It's still a Tom Dowd Atlantic so "high fidelity" is a stretch. But despite the cardboard drums and "two-track" rather than stereo soundfield, it sounds pretty sweet and detailed. My pressing was very good. But I'm convinced this series exists so that Rhino can come along and sell oversized poly outer bags at outragious prices. None that I have fit except those intended for box sets. And the LP does not slide easily back on the pocket, becasue while the spine is as wide as the day is long, the opening doesn't provide any room to breathe.

All superb but my copy (bought sealed) has no insert that is mentioned on the OBI. Anyone with same experience or it came without insert?

Edited 9 months agoThis is great pressing, sounds fantastic, a quality pressing. I only have one issue and that’s the jacket. It’s a quality cardboard but it’s super tight. I had a difficult time trying to get the record back into the jacket. This is really strange because the jacket is larger than your normal jackets but yet still very tight. Very much like the Vinyl Me Please jackets.

I absolutely love the music and sound quality of this record. Extremely quiet except a little blip towards the end of Ole. Sounds like channel goes out briefly but it’s so quick I don’t really mind. Anyone else hear that?

Bought a sealed copy today (#3467/5000) at local Barnes & Noble store. List price was $41.99, with hip/discounts got it for $36.63. I thought these were available "exclusively at Rhino.com" as stated on Rhino.com website...I guess not? There was also a copy of Miles Davis-Tutu. Price tag indicated "07-05-2024" so perhaps that was the date they became available in store. Don't know what's going on here.

First off i shall state i prefer this in stereo to mono.
This is my favourite Rhino Hifi so far and its also the first one that truly blows the alternative recent reissues away (Music on Vinyl/Waxtime as my two other stereo cuts). It is also the best pressed Rhino Hifi cut for me so far too. Next to no non-fill at last!!! This is a first in 5 records from this much lauded series which left me cold at first as my first two (Cars and Coltrane Sound) were horrendously bad.
What relief then, that i can finally now the hype train and give a 10/10 to a Rhino Hifi reissue... hoorah!
Now Rhino, if you could just release these Hifi series with the same KPG masterings on CD please?!?! 🙏 -

If this pressing is stereo I’m curious why they used the mono jacket cover. I’ve got the mono copy from the mono box set and it’s the same cover. The first stereo pressing from 1961 has “Stereo” printed in bold black at the top left corner. Just wondering.
