Fantastic pressing. Awesome redone metallic artwork (although the black text on chrome inside the gatefold is not very easy to read lol), the records looks sweet, and the pressings are SO quiet and punchy. The drums sound unreal, WELL worth the price on The Flenser’s site.

highly recommend these 2024 pressings. they are fairly priced to an extend i‘m absolutely not expecting anymore from vinyl in 2024 but beyond that, they sound fantastic and they look stunning. the gatefold‘s got this metallic laminated look and the discs are not only beautiful and match the album cover, but they are also dead quiet and flat on the turntable. i‘m frankly blown away.

Front to back, a very dynamic sounding beautiful looking record. This is hands down the most beautiful looking record I own. I usually don’t go for color vinyl but this one was such a pleasant surprise.

In of pressing quality - this GZ’s biggest achievement in my humble opinion. Discs are flat and absolutely no noise.

Sound quality- as mentioned earlier and by others, very dynamic and punchy. Sometimes, the guitars may sound a bit thin and grainy, but it is not at all bothersome. The bass on this is very well defined and full bodied. Drum sounds huge and not at all lost in the mix.

Death left a significant mark in the history of music and The Sound Of Perseverance became both a swan song and an epitaph in their career. In all respects, an excellent album that still sounds relevant and fresh, serving as an example for many newcomers and oldies who risk demonstrating to audience their Death Metal, after whose albums it is a relief to listen to classics from Death, who became a household name during their lifetime.

In of sound, I had a chance to compare several editions of "Pinwheels", "and "Butterfly", there are no actual differences. The same sound from 2016, but in different wrappers. The industry standards of the current day allow you to create a wide variety of design solutions - why not! The point of these reissues is not to take a separate album, but a whole collection in one unique design. Which is kind of a little far from the music... But there is something there. These are cool commemorative editions, which mostly sound good (there are questions for individual albums, but definitely not for tSoP), and they mostly look nice in of vinyl design (although, for example, the "Butterfly" series looked really ugly or "Pinwheels" really awkward). Otherwise, this edition is good not only in colours but also in the quality of pressing vinyl - both records sound amazingly clean and have no deformations, which for Relapse + GZ products can be considered an absolute achievement.

Although there is not the highest dynamics index with a DR10 value, the sound here is quite powerful and impressive, mainly due to the fact that this album was originally recorded perfectly. If we compare with the indicators of the first editions and reprints from shitty BoB, then technically the best indicators are here. The rest is a set of subjective feelings.

The idea of metal covers is not bad, but not very practical. They are quite sensitive to external influences. In addition, not all art is combined with this metal style, again tSoP looks the most presentable among the rest. A potentially rare thing, but only until the "gold foil laminated jacket" or "platinum" are made, there is room for commercial maneuver. So generations of collectors, as well as vinyl investors, they are also fucking flippers, will be equally satisfied.

PS: ...still hoping for a fresh reissue of Symbolic.

system, rega planar 3, goldring 2500 cartridge, rega phono aria, Korg DS-DAC-10R DAC converter.
I own the 2020 reissue of the 2016 version, this is practically identical with a gold and silver plastic case, the vinyls are flat with no strange waviness, nice splatter print if you like that kind of thing. As soon as it arrived I put it on the plate without washing it, despite this it is absolutely silent without any strange noises or clicks.
Sound: I ripped and posted the dr values of the 2 editions here https://dr.loudness-war.info/?artist=Death+&album=the+sound+of+Perseverance+
the mastering is the same obviously, but this 2024 pressing seems a little better to me, it sounds slightly more dynamic to my ears, perhaps due to a better cut and printing?
If you don't have a vinyl copy of this album it's definitely a great one to have, if you have one of the previous versions maybe it's not worth spending the money on this one
