Edited 4 months agoThere are a select group of Death Metal albums that sur any immensely good expectations of heaviness, songwriting, lyrical content, production, technical ferocity, and vocals. This album blows everything away in its path. I am just going to say it; in my opinion, this is THE darkest death metal album of all time. Forensic somehow sures anything else. When I first heard this years ago, it was seriously a spine chilling discovery. I have always absolutely eaten up death metal, as it is my favorite genre of music, but this album was way out of pocket (despite being brutal and having all the great qualities of a classic and renowned death metal album.) Forensic is an absolutely depressingly dark & crushing true crime/medical ridden album. There is literally nothing else that reaches this caliber to me. Part of what sells this are the melodies and vocals. Insane. This is what happens when you climb out of the box, you stay true to death metal, but somehow make something so unique and rich in atmosphere that you almost transcend the genre as a whole while becoming even more brutal. Forensic showcases Mortal Decay at their absolute peak, this album does not sound like a band, it sounds like depressing crime and medical disasters. This album is absolutely fu*ked beyond belief. And it is so precise and swift. This album has accomplished everything a very serious death metal band could only dream of achieving when they put this out. Badge of honor to own the original CD. This album will make your mind bleed tragedies.
