Great album! Very good sound. Nevertheless, I had to change 3 times the album because of one disk issues (off center, warped, some cracks). I stayed with the small cracks version. Annoying… -
Dynamic Priest album to open their sixth decade of releasing music
Released in 2024, INVISIBLE SHIELD is the 19th studio album by Judas Priest and this is the 51st year that the band’s been releasing quality recorded material. How many bands can say that?
I’m glad this doesn’t sound like the previous album, FIREPOWER (2018). Don’t get me wrong, it sounds more like FIREPOWER and REDEEMER OF SOULS (2014) than their earlier ones but, nevertheless, they went a different route and that’s good.
It’s all-around more energetic and heavier—more technical—yet it lacks the standout songs of those albums, not to mention most of their disks. It’s a quality modern Priest release, for sure, but it’s probably my least favorite opus from them since DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH (1984).
That said, it’s growing on me and there are the expected catchy tracks, like the crunchy “Devil in Disguise,” the mid-paced “Gates of Hell,” the moving ballad “Crown of Horns,” the Painkiller-ish “The Serpent and the King,” the different “Escape from Reality” with it’s clean-channel guitars on the stanzas, and “Giants in the Sky,” which sounds like it originated from the REDEEMER OF SOULS sessions.
If you get the version with the bonus tracks, “The Lodger” is a worthy closer.
The eleven proper tracks clock-in at 52.5 minutes while the three bonus tracks on some releases add another 11 minutes, 15 seconds.

Great pressing from Pallas. The discs are absolutely flat, clean and sound perfect even uncleaned.
The production is also outstanding. Even when played loud, the sound is not unpleasant on the ear.

The ai generated artwork on the sleeves is disappointing and I expected more from priest, but musically they're still insanely good. Besides that good packaging -
Great album and a very good sounding pressing. My copy is missing the side C label though, just bare black vinyl. -
Damn, this album absolutely ROCKS! The packaging is first class. The vinyl needed a good cleaning but sounds perfect. A must buy! -
