Edited 4 years agoComing hot off the heels from their storming debut, Client returned the following year with the single 'In It For The Money'. The first to come from sophomore record 'City' this track wastes no time in grabbing you by the balls with its blaring sirens and marching beat, all with the duo's sultry tones making audacious claims with effortless vigor. This new release would perfectly showcase what Client had in store for us over the year with its incredible cover art and a trio of tunes that are larger than life.
Alongside the title track are the b-sides 'Down To The Underground' - a thumping wave of electronica which comes with additional vocals by Libertines' Pete Doughty and would find appear as a popular deep cut from 'City' later on - and the creepy crawler 'Burning Up' which takes a slower step and softer vocals to close off the tracklist. This wouldn't be the breakout hit for the band that year (that goes to 'Pornography'), but with a new age of electronica on the horizon it was clear that Client would become a massive part of it and weren't going down without a fight.
