This music is timeless and does not sound dated, almost like it came from the future. I wish Dillinja had made more 12"s like this for Prototype, or even an album! If it was released in 1997, that means he made it in '96? Who else was making music like this back then? Such a unique sound, "Revelations" is my favorite of the two.

Revelations is such a unique tune. Truly one of the most warehousey and yet somehow, at the same time, outdoorsy tunes ever created. Its just great storytelling in the form of a minimal dnb track.
This is future. -

Edited 8 years agoOh my, these tracks are brutal, but its no surprise as its Dillinja at the top of his game when he could do little wrong.
As Karlrichard has already put so perfectly, this man had so many skills and a vision of a sound of the future many artists would struggle to come close to even now.
I just love this period of the music, it still sounds as good now as it did back then.

Edited 13 years agoDillinja's style rules with this release, and "Light Years" is the gem to check... What an awesome track! Amazing attention to detail, a great break beat workout (what an unusual yet killer break) layered with space aged synths and a bass so hard it kicks like an atom bomb. I still drop this with maximum effect...
"Light Years" was on dub plate for "time" before its release, and I people always asking "What's the title of this?" or "Who is this artist?" while dancing to this at Tempo and Metalheadz. Grooverider played this on many an airwave mix session and it always rocked "IT" in just the right way...
Another testament to Karl Francis's abilities as a pioneer producer on the drum and bass scene. If you enjoyed his Deadly Vinyl excursions, then this is definitely worth listening to...
