Oof, what happened here? I found this at a GREAT price STILL SEALED and thought I couldn't it up. Surely, it had to be as good, if not better, than an OG, right? The packaging is great. The vinyl is thick, flat, and silent. The music is....flat. Lifeless. Muddled. If there's proof out there that Ludwig is imperfect, this is it. Stick with the RL OG pressing instead.

This release sounds great, is pressed at RTI, is remastered by the legend Bob Ludwig himself, and can still be purchased at a reasonable price (i.e., about 1/3 of the price of a comparatively graded Mofi at this point). I have nothing to compare this pressing to, but recommend buying while it’s still within reach…

Edited 7 years agoThis release does sound good. I recently found a sealed copy for cheap also and was pleased with the sound. Doesn't have the clarity, warmth and dynamics that the MFSL pressing has though imo.

Edited 7 years agoFound a mint (sealed!!) copy of this for $4.99 at a local Half Price Books yesterday. Amazing thick, flat vinyl and a superb remaster that is every bit as good as the Mobile Fidelity pressing that came a few years later.
