Wow. The Atmos mix is quite amazing. What else can I say. Steven Wilson kills it once again.

The mix is incredible, updated to create depth and seperation to make every speaker work, and all without losing any of the impact and strength of the original. I'm extremely impressed with Steven Wilson. I've purchased a couple of others in the SDE Surround series, but The Hurting has had the greatest impact so far.

Yep, this is banging. Cool to hear the rejected mixes, thank god they were though as changes the mood of the music somewhat

Having listened to the stereo mixes again the Miles Showell remaster of the original is by far the best stereo version suring my original U.K. vinyl and CD in every respect. The Steve Wilson remix sounds just as fantastic but it’s obviously slightly different.

The MS remaster here is so much more dynamic than the previous Blu Ray release.

The DR of the MS original mix is the same as the original U.K. vinyl/CD

Very impressed with this Blu Ray set.
I’m especially pleased about the stereo mixes included and of course Steven Wilson’s excellent remix for the album!
Miles Showell Half-Speed Master of the original mix is actually one of the better remastering jobs than the previous Tears for Fears albums done from 2014-2020, If I be real honest here (Surprised from the Seeds of Love deluxe box included the original ‘89 Bob Ludwig digital master/mix which sounds amazing).
I haven’t gone through the atmos mix yet but I’m certain it’ll be quite the experience.

The Steven Wilson stereo mix was the first step for his surround mixes. Steven did a multitrack stereo mix, which should match as close as possible to the original mix. Then he did the surround mix from this stereo multitrack. Normally this stereo mix will not be released (okay SFTBC has this stereo mix too).
This stereo mix was not intended to be included on this Blu-ray. In the comments to this release on the SDE-website many wished that this stereo mix should be included. Steven Wilson read the comments and at a last minute decision it was included. I am happy with this.
This Blu-ray with all the different Soundtracks is by far the best re-release of this album (in of sound quality) with the "DYNAMICS" not crushed, thanks for that. The Box - Set in of a nearly complete Release.

Listened to the instrumental mix (stereo) and the 5.1 Steven Wilson Mix. Both sound so great for an album i bought as a youngster and which i know by heart from the start to the end. My LP was broken (pun intended) during a wild house party with parents on holiday, a new LP was bought, our son has it now, with all the scratches and tickles, i have a reissue cd, but this tops everything. The 2 bonus versions are interesting, and reveal the origins of these 2 songs. A real gem. Sadly i had to pay 17.50 euro + 11.20 euro taxes for a EU blu ray which was imported in the UK and then again imported in EU.

Proof that if you take away the music biz types and put producing the product in the hands of people who care about physical, you get something as good as this. Right down to the reversable cover art, for those who might like the US/Japan edition artwork over the UK's - no industry person would have thought of doing that, or think it was that important.

It's a great dynamic listen all round, not fatiguing like modern remasters. I'm never a fan of those that remix 2.0 basic stereo of the original, it's just pointless - but the surround mixes are the main meat on the bone here.

Steven Wilson definitely (with this and The Tipping Point surround he did) prioritises the vocals high up in the mix over anything else - some might agree that is correct - personally I don't as it comes at an expense of some of the more incidental effects going on (like the title track, or indeed the title track of The Tipping Point).

It will never replace the original 2.0 mix of the album on vinyl, or the first digital CD issue, but this is a very good compliment to a classic album. Long may this series continue.

I’m not interested in the surround mixes to be fair but the stereo Miles Showell 2023 master and the 2023 Steve Wilson remix are exceptional. I love vinyl but I will buy a well mastered Hi Res stereo Blu Ray like this over vinyl every time. Sure it means I have to rip it to my server and then never use the disc again but I still own it physically. The clarity and detail here is exceptional and I’m hearing additional detail that I’ve not heard before.

One of the best, if not the best-sounding Blu-ray Pure Audio in my relatively extensive collection. The Dolby Atmos Mix sounds overwhelming without being determined by showmanship. Steven Wilson outdid himself, so to speak. The mix is as rich in detail as necessary, as careful as possible, uses the entire space of the virtual stage and allows individual instruments and sounds to be localized at any time. What was not so clear to me until now: without exception, the tracks are truly creative pearls with partly completely unusual instrumentation and melodies - a great album! Also very interesting is the stereo instrumental mix on the album, also by Steven Wilson. So make sure to grab it.
