Sounds good. The police sirens on Word On The Street messed with my head kind of unexpectedly. Chill vibes unless you listen to the lyrics, haha. Happy to have it on the shelf.

This record was sabotaged without the RZA treatment that many of the other core-Wu got for their solo records. Still, "Uncontrolled Substance" has great narratives, love ballads, and 5 percent knowledge. A majority of militant headbangers that would have banged harder if RZA would have stayed on the boards throughout the entire LP. Deck, as the starting pistol on both "Protect Ya Neck" and "Triumph" ( making him the first Wu rhyme slinger many like myself had heard) deserved at least that.

I might be in the minority here, but I found the bass to be overwhelming on this. It felt uncontrolled, if you can excuse the pun, and distracted me from the overall sound. Have fifty or so VMP Hip-Hop releases, and they are usually top-notch sonically, but this one left me disappointed.
tested on: Rega P3, exact cart, Edwards Audio pre-amp, Rega I/O amp, Elac Debut 2.0 speakers. -
My copy is flat & true. The LPs also sound really great. My issues are with the design. Like with the Gravediggaz reissue vmp went rogue and did their own labels reusing the same photos several times throughout the release. I do like the outer sleeve design based off the original cd release but the booklet seems like a waste.
-
Two copies so far and both have a severly warped LP2 (unplayable). This is the first time I've encountered serious warps from GZ. Usually it's something else. Beware of unchecked sets.

Sounds awesome jacket is super cool with foiled lettering however there is a common issue with extreme warp quality control clearly wasn’t present. They are sending a replacement but if anyone is considering buying non direct be aware of this

Echoing the reviews here, this pressing is excellent, loud dynamic sound and silent vinyl. I would've preferred a gatefold but the sleeve is pretty high quality

Another great VMP release. Dead quiet. Top notch sound. Pleased with this one.
My sleeve arrived damaged around the top edge but didn’t see any of the warped discs others have mentioned.
