Edited one year agoI’m comparing this to the Xtreem 2006 remaster cd, and it has way more grunt and better dynamics. The vinyl sounds anemic in comparison. The difference is most notable in the low end - on the cd, the bass guitar rumbles and the drums have more attack. I don’t know for sure if this has more to do with cd vs vinyl or master vs master, probably the latter, but this is one of the rare cases where I find that the cd thumps the vinyl into oblivion. This was the fourth time I bought this album, and I will only keep the vinyl for the collectability value, won’t be listening to it in the future.

Edited 2 years agoHappy with this green version. Seems slighty crunchier than the 1st, wich is slighty more soggy and to the background. This pressing stays pretty close to the 1st press. Some oversteer is gone at some points and at some moments almost. I am glad they stayed close to the original and kept it organic.
Great package! High Quality cover and all. This is one wich had to be done well. So they did. Thanks, sounds splendid. and it was quiet and clean. Not covered in paperfibers but nice and clean, comes in antistatic sleeve.
Quick delivery and comioned communication by Svart Records.
What a celebration. -
I buy vinyl reissues because I expect new prints sound better than old first print cds. Usually this is the case but not with this one. Compared to cd the lp has guitar way too much upfront. It makes the snare drum to fade it the background in fast parts. Guitar is also spread too wide when on cd it is more centered. The cd also has better bass drum punch. In vocals I could not hear much difference. A disappointing print.

Svart reissuing Slumber of Sullen Eyes = automatic 10 stars, but this thing only lets me rate five.
