Edited 28 days agoMy copy has terrible vinyl pressing. Fresh out of the sealed box, it had strong distortion on the trumpet, constant cracle and generally muddy sound. quality, Washing didn't help. Horrible.

A wonderful package and an excellent tribute to a timeless record. Includes a fine sounding, fully analogue vinyl reissue. Easily recommended!

Edited 3 years agoI got this sealed at a local record store for a great price but was a bit worried with one of the comments here. I'm happy to say that this is the Janos analog cut and it sounds great! The mix is a bit chaotic at times so it's nice to hear the instruments clearly separated with as much clarity as I think one could pull out of this one. The tonality is super balanced and the dark atmosphere of the album comes through perfectly. I don't have any other versions to compare this to, but I don't think I'll need any other copy of this.
Also, both records are flat, centered and free of any issues including stitching or non-fill that seems to plague new vinyl nowadays. So, I guess that the fact that this was pressed in 2010 helped in that regard.
Anyway, don't hesitate buying this if you're lucky to find it somewhere, even if it is the European version. The cut is the same as the US version and everything else looks and is as good (even though it's pressed in a different plant). If I had to point out something negative about this is the fact that these come in a paper inner sleeve which left some (totally inaudible) marks on my records. I read that the American version has poly-lined inners as it should.

Dirtiest pair of records I ever pulled out of a freshly opened box. Even a good clean doesn't help. What a shame.
