Universal Indicator – Universal Indicator Blue

Lucky Mike Dred, he got to record in Aphex Twin's bedroom ("LLannerlog Studios" was his home studio in his bedroom at his parents place). Both Mike himself ("Kosmik Kommando") and Llannerlog are credited in the runouts. Doesn't prove fan theories (and record store theories) that it's Aphex Twin, but it does confirm that he helped record it.

I got this from a pop up record store in Brighton UK, why did I get it? Because it was blue, of course. This record is very strange and has a raw quality that I like alot, one track seems to have been cut off because they "ran out" of room, much of the other tracks are distorted and have a heaviness and intensity that is missing from more polished techno records. Check this out if you like primitive and loud techno.

My version of this record has the following info "A1, 2,3" written on the label. And on the other side it says "B1, 2, 3". Should I add that version as a separate one? I guess it could have been added by the record shop owner I bought it from, or the previous owner of the record.

I've added an extra version of this release for the ones who have the stamped version (like me).

Hi, reaching out to those more knowledgable than me on this. I have one of the blue 12" stamped with "The Aphex Twin" on side ONE. The innersleeve has stamped (in blue ink) on one side "universal indicator EP" and "innovations in the dynamics of acid". One the other side it's stamped PO Box 2672 London and what appears to be nll laz. Does anyone else have this innersleeve, was it released without an outer sleeve (blue) as in the pictures above?

My copy also is stamped with: "The Aphex Twin" on one side.

I bought my first copy of this ep after a tip off from a friend (cheers Justin Bee)..
So off I trumped to the local independent record store then called Scorpian Records (sadly now defunct) in High Wycombe..
I was lucky I went as happened to get the last copy by a milli second !
Wicked selection of hard ear bending acid and techno perfect for any out door crusty raver party!
TSA is still a massive fave...

Just watch out for those flailing dreadlocks I caught the sharp end of one once whilst dancing.. Ouch!

funny enough my version of this record has The Aphex Twin stamped on it. My Red doesn't have the stamp.Bought it as a double 12" new in 1992/93 in Amsterdam.

I picking this up in 1992 and absolutely loved it. In Glasgow at the time most of the club nights played progressive or garage house which was boring me to tears.

Then along came some nice new experimental music like this release. On the A Side Definitely A Head Doer is exactly that-brilliant! But the jewel in the crown is Psychic Turbulence, some crazy swirling analogue sounds, enough bass to cripple most sound systems, and an aggressive 303 line to take you away.

Unfortunately I never heard this played out on a big system but me and my mates had many a house party and loved the blue, red, and clear Kosmik Kommando releases.
