I must say that this album is one of the best purchases I made in 1988. I have only played it 4 times since then and it sounds magnificent to this day.
-
This has encoded noise reduction (triangle logo) just like the Blizzard of Ozz one. You need an decoder that handles this, hence it sounds muffled on some systems.

My copy is FULL of sound. Nothing “muffled.”
I was lucky enough to pick my copy up for $14.99 because the media has superficial looking scratches.
Believe it or not, it plays very well! The scratches that are visible happen to hit in the correct timing of the music to where you hardly even notice.
Very cool Ozzy album and very cool. Metal record! Totally recommend picking up for any metal enthusiast. -
Both the LP and the CD sound muffled and dull. The high end seems to be rolled off on the masters. I recently re-eque'd the CD in a DAW and it opened up the recording greatly. The snare and cymbal's pop out of the mix and Ozzy voice now sounds more earie and haunting as now I can hear the double takes that were recorded. As for the album to me its the best release Ozzy put out. Sure most go on about his first 2 due to Randy Rhoads and they are great albums. To me they are great but are very dated both in music writing and production. This album could have been released today and it would not sound out of place. 5 star album, 4 start in mastering.
