My FDR copy sounds pretty damn good! And I've listened different versions of this album. As others have mentioned, the original Master for this record isn't the best. Sounds very compressed. However, this FDR version from Earache does allow 'Domination' to breathe a bit. There isn't a night and day difference between older versions, and this later FDR version. But it's the best version I've heard so far. Kinda wish I could compare this one with the Rhino LE release. Because Rhino does pretty good work with their remasters/pressings. But if you're a big fan of Domination, I wouldn't sleep on this one if you can find a solid price on it. It's definitely a bit "brighter" than the original mix

The main problem for that album is the original 1995 mastering which is compressed to death. This master was used for all editions on CD and vinyl (as far as I ). It will never sound great (especially on vinyl). It sounds squashed, has a lot of pumping artifacts and audible summary compression. Sadly, this is the first loudness war victim album of MORBID ANGEL. I would die for a chance to listen to the original and unmastered MORRISOUND version, but that will probably never happen...so all the FDR claims are useless for that album.

To the Disappoinments with the FDR LP's from Domination.... this LP is a bit long for a single LP , to get the full 100% of the sond you have to press this on 4 sites of Vinyl ( = 2-LP ) , i did not own this FDR re-release but i have both 1995 original pressings and the 2011 pressings and all of them sound only ok , but not one of them has the full sound ...

I have to agree with Retina91. This print is a total disappointment. I started to wonder was the original print really as lame on the bass because I was expecting ”full dynamic range” to take over. Not happening. I compared this to 2019 reissue without FDR and they are very close to each other. IOW terrible.
Then I inserted the original cd from 1995. The mastering is a lot bulkier on the bass! In vocals the FDR maybe clearer but that’s not saving anything. In CD vs. LP CD wins this battle with flying colors. Don’t waste your time buying LP of Domination at all. -
Edited one year agoIn my opinion my copy does not look like an FDR. It doesn't have a very good sound and also certain noises between songs and soft parts. Nothing to do with other FDR editions such as those of Carcass (Reek...,Symphonies...) , Napalm Death- From enslavement..., Brutal Truth- Extreme condictions....
I didn't expect that an FDR would let me down.
I see and agree the same comments for the green and purple/green version.
