The funk of this is in tha BASS, so you gotta hear the wonders of Stuart Zender loud and clear. It’s strong mids you hear, not low end in particular. It is not overdone, it is exactly right!
-
Seems like a different opinion from everyone on this reissue. The pressing I have sounds great, maybe a bit heavy on the bass but I like that, vocals and everything else is crystal clear, not muddy at all and easy to pick out the different instruments, probably all comes down to how far down the pressing the copy you get.
-
I agree with many others, this pressing sounds muddy and bloated. My CD from back when this album was originally released kicks this LP's ass. Sadly disappointed here as I was hoping for a great analog version of this incredible album.

Sonne vraiment bien avec de bonnes basses, un remaster bien différent de la version CD. Très beau packaging sinon

As a package and for the price it’s ok.
But I don’t like the sound at all. Like an MP3 pressed on vinyl. No soundstage depth, no dynamics, no air, compressed…
If you listen to a Motown Stevie Wonder original “Songs in the key of life” and then put on this recording, you’ll get what I’m saying. -
One of Jamiroquai`s Finest LP`s Reissued, Remastered, sensibly priced & on a two discs Yellow 180g vinyl what`s NOT to love?!
This is an OUTSTANDING Reissue full of analog warmth but with Great stereo separation,a wide soundstage, clear and precise detail and more dynamics than you can shake a stick at.
A Top purchase of anyone`s hard earned £££`s if you`re a Jamiroquai, soul, pop, funk, dance etc. fan you won`t be disappointed, comes in a gatefold album cover of fairly good standard and paper sleeves(which I swapped for anti-statics),just make sure your vinyl front-end & your system is "up to the job" of doing this LP justice!

Clean playback. Flat and centered discs. As far as the sonic balance goes, I think it's fine -infact, I think it sounds great. The bass level is commonly faulted on this release, and the mastering engineer is generally blamed. I disagree, and I think there's a general lack of knowledge and understanding about how much a mastering engineer can do - the mastering engineer can't remix. Is the bass heavy? Yes, it is. Are the bass frequencies emphasized equally across all parts of the mix? No! What does this mean? Well, it strongly suggests that this is close to how it was mixed originally, and that the bass may have been rolled off for other releases.
-
Simply, too much bass. Not sure why they recorded it this way. But that was just the first problem. Second, multiple songs skipping, not playing correctly, it’s recorded horribly. I returned it.
