The instruments come through heavy. The bass gives a good bump to my speakers but Cobain sounds like he's behind a wall. This needed more umph on the vocals to match the sound from the band. (Pro-Ject Evo w/Sumiko Rainier, Kef LS50 Meta, Musical Fidelity M6si, Bombay Sapphire/tonic with twist of lime).

a very good release that reflect a crucial moment in the band history, with a nice sound. But the packaging is a little too plain. I would have appreciated some liner notes about the context, or an interview...

Edited 5 years agoThe DVD for this release is a winner without question, but the audio only versions (Vinyl and CD) are terrible; overly compressed sound, and bad editing choices and techniques (no “Love Buzz”, they cut the whole “More Than A Feeling” intro to “...Teen Spirit”, and what’s with all the fake cheering/crowd noise at the beginning and end of each track?). I can understand using some editing in order to fit all the music due to time constraints, and for creating smoother segues and transitioning, but what they did here is ridiculous (Kurdt would’ve been completely embarrassed, and most likely have lost his sh!t). 0 stars for the audio only formats. 5 stars for the DVD and it’s unaltered audio.

Sounds just like you're at the concert, so raw and chaotic! Stellar audio and very nice, thick packaging.

Edited 7 years agothought my copy my dad gave me for Christmas today was used so I opened that plastic bag and I guess thats just how it was manufactured. Never saw a bag like that...threw me off like it was a reseal. And of course now I am out of LP sleeves. Watching the concert now on youtube! A lot of this show was in the Live Tonight Sold Out VHS I had back in the mid 90s.

My copy came without the sticker on the shrinkwrap. The packaging is beautiful. The vinyl quality is pretty good, but I found Disc 1 being pressed off-center. Anybody else who can observe that?
