A one track cd single. Talk about taking advantage of their fans. How about an extended version or at least an instrumental?
-
The difference between the vocals for Voyage and those for any other album of ABBA's is that Michael B. Tretow was not part of the Voyage recording, and so the ladies' vocals aren't compressed like they would have been in olden days. Frida's voice has grown into its naturally lower s, and Agnetha's voice has found a little world-weariness but both are still absolutely remarkable artists. I Still Have Faith In you is an incredibly honest and loving song that sums up where they are at in their lives. No wonder it is nominated for Grammy's Record Of The Year.

This is unfortunately not a song written for ABBA, as Benny Andersson confessed. And yes, it sounds like it was planned for the wonderful BAO Benny Andersson Orkester, and Helen Sjöholm. But Anni-Frid's very beautiful and well aged warm voice and of course Björn's words and lyrics rewritten to ABBA (?) somehow make it an ABBA song that you can well imagine at the end of the new ABBA Voyage Tour concerts. In any case, top produced and worth listening to and the video compensates a bit for the 40 year break with rare clips!

Enormously moving song and production which really goes unashamedly for the heart. Once you let it in - and it completely broke me only after at least 10 plays - it seems like some kind of miracle. Breaks new ground for ABBA, also, in that it's really a power ballad. Can't think of another ABBA track quite like it. A perfect return.

Edited 3 years agowhat ABBA were known for, harmonizing vocals perfectly, is not quite there in this track. A split second off at times, and having waited for years for this, would have expected that to have been perfect
Also note that this got a vinyl release and the other single with Agnetha didn't. Frida was always the better vocalist and still is. Her voice has aged well as it was classically trained, she has a much better range and timbre. Agentha's voice on the other hand has not aged well, needs a lot more studio tuning, but then that was always the case, not a very strong voice.
