"Hello, I'm Johnny Cash." and the crowd goes wild.

Excellent sounding, highly sought after and tremendously rare true mono mix of this essential live album. Somehow, this specific mix is so elusively rare, that WLP mono copies are dime a dozen compared to the retail copies, and the hype for the mono mix of this album is genuine. It literally sounds like Johnny and the band are in the room with you on this mix. Johnny's vocals are more raw and pronounced than the muddy vocals on the stereo mix, and the instruments are right up front and mixed perfectly with the vocals here. Audience noises and heckles are quieter, but even with that, you can still really feel the "live energy" in this version more than in the stereo version. If you can find a playable copy of this rare mono mix that isn't an arm and a leg in price, whether retail or promo, don't hesitate to buy it.
