Originally recorded in early 1982 in Crass’ rehearsal studio at Dial House, ‘Christ Alive’ documents the ofttimes gruelling process behind the making of a song. 'Christ Alive!' was mixed at Allen Road Studios, Nov 2020.
"A rare insight into the workings of Crass, spattered with the workings of Ludwig Van Beethoven's 5th Symphony".
This release was originally intended to be limited to only 450 copies, but due to it’s popularity, the pressing quantity changed and it was actually limited to 1,000 copies in the end. All profits donated to the Refuge, a UK charity working against domestic violence.

Still available at bandcamp as of August 2024.
3 years on and these 1000 copies are still milking it seems. Makes you wonder if it was really a 1000.

Edited 3 years agoChrist the album is up there, one of the best LPs ever released in my opinion. As for the rehearsal, oh dear..... Interesting, fun but not a patch on the masterpiece. Still, a fitting epitaph for the debacle that is RSD...........

Sorry, love the band and everything they stand for, but this release is just anoying.
The rehearsals alone would have been ok, but not too exciting. Mixing in the Beethoven stuff could have been cool if it would add something, or make a new twist to it.
But now it just sounds just like some neighbor is listening to classical music too loud.
