Picked this up at the Austin Record Show a few weeks ago with the sticker, time sheet and gold stamp. Vinyl is EX- and sleeve is VG++.
After an ultrasonic cleaning in my Humminguru I put this on and holy fucking shit! The dynamics are absolutely mind blowing, full of depth and punch like it was recorded today.
Find yourself a copy of this even if it’s VG and it’ll knock your socks off. -
I have a copy of this. But mine is stamped in the upper right instead of the upper left like i see so many copies. But mine has an additional gold stamp that says "4187". Does anyone know what this could be?
-
At least according to Mike at the In Groove who has listened to a ton of pressings, this is the best version of "The Wall" available. Good luck finding it for a decent price.
-
My copy is stamped but doesn’t have the stickers or the “DEMONSTRATIONAL COPY” on the record labels. However, this record is unbelievably incredible. Extremely smooth sound, deep and rich bass and snappy, tight drum sound. The only way to listen to the Wall is on vinyl, with TML run-outs on all 4 sides. Can’t imagine there’s much of a difference between the UK and German pressing since they also have the TML stamp, but im glad to have this one

Edited 2 years agoHere are the runout matrixes for my copy of THE WALL which--according to the Discogs release note description---is indeed a variant of the ones with the hype sticker, timing strip and promo label indicators (mine is missing all three, and only has the gold-stamp on the upper left-hand side on the back of the gatefold jacket).
Side 1: T1 PAL-36184-1J TML-S
Side 2: T2 PBL-36184-1BA TML-M
Side 3: T1 PAL-36185-1AB TML-S
Side 4: T1 PBL-36185-1AD TML-S -
My copy doesn't have The Pink Floyd hype sticker and the timing strip is on the bottom left front cover. It does have The for promotion only stamped on the back cover. The records themselves don't have the demonstration only on the labels.
-
I found a copy with the labels having demonstration copy not for sale. I have come across promo stamps but first time I found one with labels stamped
-
I also have the UK 1st press but this one is better. It has more on the bottom end, I think. Feels fuller.
-
Does everyone have exactly the same runouts as listed here? Could there be other variations e.g., 1AH instead of 1D?
-
I own this one and the coveted CBS Mastersound pressing. This is the one to get. Find a clean copy and you are all set!
