Fontaines D.C.はアイルランドのダブリン出身のポストパンク・バンドだ。メンバーはCarlos O'Connell（g）、Conor Curley（g）、Conor Deegan III（b）、Grian Chatten（Vo）、Tom Coll（Dr）。5人がダブリンのミュージック・カレッジで出会いバンドはスタートした。2017年5月にシングル「Liberty Belle」を自主リリース。その後、「Hurricane Laughter / Winter In the Sun」、「Chequeless Reckless / Boys In The Better Land」をリリースし、2018年11月に現レーベル、Partisan Recordsと契約。「Too Real」、「Liberty Belle」（再リリース）、「Roy's Tune」とシングルのリリースを続けた。
2019年4月、Fontaines D.C.はデビュー・アルバム『Dogrel』をリリースし、リード・シングル「Big」を公開。アルバムはNME（5/5）、The Guardian（5/5）、Pitchfork（8.0/10）と各メディアで高い評価を獲得。UKチャートの9位、アイルランド・チャートの4位を記録し、2019年のマーキュリー・プライズにもノミネートされた

The band started when five people met at Music College in Dublin. In May 2017, the single "Liberty Belle" was released independently. After that, they released "Hurricane Laughter / Winter In the Sun" and "Chequeless Reckless / Boys In The Better Land" and signed with the current label Partisan Records in November 2018. They continued to release singles such as "Too Real", "Liberty Belle" (re-released) and "Roy's Tune".
In April 2019, Fontaines D.C. released their debut album "Dogrel" and released their lead single "Big". The album has won high acclaim in various media such as NME (5/5), The Guardian (5/5), and Pitchfork (8.0/10).
