The original Birds Of Tilmun!
Perhaps Oscillators should have called it the Birds of Chillman mix??...
Check it out y'all! ;) -
The beat at the beginning of the 'Analogue Mix' is sampled from the album 'Chill Out' by The KLF (on the track 'Witchita Lineman Was A Song I Once Heard').

Edited 18 years agoAfter a very lengthy search, 14 years to be precise, this track "Birds Of Tilmun(Chillmix)" is definately one i have to comment on. I first heard this in 1992 on Colin Favor's lengendary Kiss 100 F.M. show and frustratingly never knew what it was called until now... "Chillmix" is a very apt name as it's very cold and haunting and it sends shivers down my spine. It starts with a very cinematic vibe that sounds like it's being sung by 'a choir of dead beings'.. In the background you can hear an unnerving wailing sound that reminds me of bird of prey or perhaps even a female Siren tempting you away into the darkness of the night? The percussion , albeit minimal, takes you on a progressive journey and gets further layered by a rolling trance synth riff... This tune is quite simple in its production but thats what makes it soooooo effective. If you're afraid of the dark then you best stay the hell away, but if not check it out!

Edited 20 years agoAlways a treat when you get a record that contains a song you heard from an old mixtape...a great one if that. The Breakmix is the winner on this album. A nice mix of atmospheric elements, combined with the female singing = a dreamscape of old school proportions.
