I too have to praise this edition - very strong dynamics, clean and open sound. Gave it a wet clean just a moment ago and it is a real pleasure to listen to. Don't have other editions to compare, but on the crackle side my copy is VG+ easily and in every aspect. There are maybe 2 or 3 absolute deniable clicks. Since there are a lot of very quiet parts the vinyl may be not the absolute best medium bc you have to turn the volume up and then all technical weaknesses of the format shine through like superexposed.

Low sound volume yes, but extremely pleasing quality and dynamics. A few crackles goes along with the format and low volume - I'd rather have the excellent recording with the crackles than a loud, compressed recording that buries the format noise.

I have a very special emotional connection to this symphonic suite of Princess Mononoke, because I was lucky enough of seeing Joe Hisashi's live concert last year in Vancouver. I the live performance of this symphonic suite was so powerful and astonishing. That's why I was looking forward to this vinyl, which I hope it can bring back that sensation I had, however, this vinyl is extremely disappointing - low sound volume and a lot of pops through playing that distract you from the enjoyment.

I must have gotten a good one. Very deep sound. Love it.

Despite an ultrasonic cleaning before the playing session, the recording is full of clicks and is very noisy. It takes all the hearing pleasure away. I bought the "castle in the sky" ost from the same label and i dont have the same problem at all. Very disapointing considering what a beautiful music this is.

amazing music but crap and your typical silent as hell japanese recording. For such masterpiece music, you really need excellent recording and mastering. What just happened? sigh.
Simply not worth the money and time to even place it on the player.

Wonderful release. Bought all three Mononoke releases and very happy with them. Just amazing music from an amazing movie.
