I keep coming back to this album, liking it more every time.
Olivetti's and Jorge's fingerprints are all over this - it's unlike any other Valle album.
They were really on fire at the time.
Aside from their masterful eponymous album, also check out the Sandra Sa albums they produced.
Together they make for a hell of a day at the beach. -
New editions done by Mr. Bongo to be shipped out on May 21st; these include two black versions (standard and half-speed mastered), two colored versions (mint green and rose), CD and cassette. https://us.mrbongo.com/collections/marcos-valle/products/estrelar-vinyl-lp

What´s the pressing / sound quality of the Brazilian original pressing like? Would prefer it to any other pressing if the sound´s good.

Edited 7 years agoTrack A2 "Fogo Do Sol" was released as an instrumental version by Eumir Deodato back in 1975 (eight years before) as "Adam's Hotel" on Eumir Deodato - First Cuckoo album, and of course, I love both versions!

Edited one year agoThe record has an excellent production, performed by musicians like Marcos Valle, Paulo Sérgio Valle (brother of Marcos Valle),Robson Jorge & Lincoln Olivetti, Picolé, Serginho Trombone (Dom Salvador & Abolição) Oberdan (Banda Black Rio), Max Pierre, Peninha, among others. Finally, a team of first line!
In this record, there are at least five brazilians boogies: "Estrelar", "Dia D", "Filhos de Abraão" and "Tapa No Real".
Marcos Valle has the power to reinvent every album, and this record is no different. A musician endowed with great artistic potential and a large dose of creativity.
Here an essential album for lovers of Boogie.
Greetings,
Rodrigobreak
