Well to just get this out of the way, Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake sucks. I was really interested to hear what Uzi released, but all that I can really say is that it’s pretty disappointing. Boring is the word to describe this project. Uzi is so weak lyrically with lines like “If it’s beef, don’t partake No, I do not eat steak All I eat is fish plates”. So many songs is just Uzi flexing his money, cars, and the girls he’s fucking. I wouldn’t even have a problem with him taking that angle if it was done a lot more interestingly. Themes like this are supposed to be fun, not putting you to sleep. The beats are very typical. None of the samples are very interesting. It’s just the same old 4/4 beats with the same old sound samples you have already heard hundreds of times. ‘Homecoming’ and ‘I’m Sorry’ are the only songs that have beats I do really enjoy, but then the songs are just weakened by their really surface level and frankly, cringey lyrics. There are parts where Uzi’s flow completely flops, especially on ‘POP’. If you’re gonna rap off beat you better do it well or else it's going to sound like trash. Eternal Atake unfortunately is just another boring cloud rap project and if you’ve heard any one of Uzi’s other projects then this one is really easy to up.
