Great sound - albeit the source (assuming digital) being quiet. Bass, high and mids separated well, not overly compressed.
No IGD which is what my original suffered from.
Setup: Techics SP10 MK2, Rega 880 Tonearm/Audio technica AT-VMN540ML, Sony TA-FB940R, Klipsch speakers. -
Edited one year agoNeeds a bit of volume, but the record really shines at a louder volume. Best-sounding pressing to date. Bass is the winner here, which may put off some purists. -
Plays dead silent with crisp highs, perfect midrange, and spectacular bass. The best Blue Monday & The Beach have ever sounded on vinyl. The more it’s turned up the better it sounds, oh baby! -
My copy is variant 2, and it sounds amazing. Side A has a big patch of fine scratches, but not audible. But yeah, the sound, it’s awesome. Sounds like it is cut from tape.

Thought I would grab this to celebrate the 40th anniversary and wow! What a fantastic repress. This tune still sounds vibrant and timeless today as it did back in 1983. Hats off to the chaps at Abbey Road for this remaster. An excellent reproduction of the iconic sleeve is a very nice touch. -
Ordered a copy from Turntable Lab and it came both significantly warped and with heavy skipping towards the beginning of my Side A. Seems to be a fluke copy based on the majority of good reviews here, but wanted to add my experience with this release.
