As beautiful the presentation of this project may be; pressing and sleeves, unfortunately the wax is pretty noisy. For as meticulously produced this album was I do not find this pressing to be very representative of the quality sound the project was going for imo.

Edited 4 years agoEvery artist and record presser should look at this quality and packaging as minimum standard for vinyl from now on. Felt like Christmas opening this one up. No more cheap paper, this is the way to do it. Sounds great, looks great. No complaints

Incredible in every way. It sounds phenomenal. The bass is great and the vocals, while they are a bit soft, sound very crisp. The packaging is great, there are a lot of nice details. There are a few occasional crackling sounds but that is to be expected since I just did a quick wet clean.

I love when colored variants go well with the album art, and this pressing is the epitome of that. The red and blue look great and the gold splodges are the cherry on top. And with the album itself, I love it pretty much from front to back, Kevin's most cohesive project yet in my eyes.

There's 52 of these things in the marketplace as I speak and people still think the starting price is 62 dollars? Don't the flippers

Upset this version didn't come with the extra 7" since it was purchased directly from Tame Impala's online shop. Nonetheless, the pressing quality is solid with some surface noise, primarily on sides A & B. Also the color splodge looks very nice and fitting with the album art.

Edited 5 years agoMy pressing is excellent, no surface noise whatsoever (even though there are some spots visible under a bright light). The gold splodge looks pretty cool as well. As for the sound, this pressing has a lot of detail. Although I find it's a bit heavy on the bass and light on the vocals, the bass is very tight and sounds punchy as hell. So nothing to complain here.
I've listened to the record a couple times now. I don't think this is Parker's best work. Overall it sounds a bit overproduced, which make the album as a whole sound somewhat messy. But there are some really good tracks on here, with Borderline being the absolute highlight. -
SO GLAD I’ve been checking everyone’s comments on this particular pressing... Just checked the Urban Outfitters closest to me and snagged the last copy! There might still be some left out there folks

Edited 4 years agoBeautiful piece of wax, but unfortunately can't say the same for the pressing quality. It's pretty noisy even after a deep clean. The music is great, though, and packaging is very nice. I love the printed inner sleeves.
