My NAD C538 CD player will not play disc 1. It recognizes 10 tracks but hit play and it just reuses to play.
Plays fine on my desk top computer's CDROM unit. -
First of all - this sounds ok to me. Im not getting earache when I listen on headphones. YMMV.
Not a great fan of War. New Year’s Day is the highlight for me. The other tracks are the bombastic U2 that Im less keen on. I can hear the Hand of Lillywhite all over this, especially the big drums.
I bought the vinyl back in 83 and many years later picked up this reissue. In of quality, it is a decent package. Sturdy, hardback book style inner that slips into a thick card outer. Having this plus Boy and October makes for a nice looking set on the shelf. I knew I should have bought the Red Rocks reissue 🤷♂️.
As with the other two reissues theres a nice selection of bonus tracks, although I’m none to keen on three mixes of the dull Two Hearts.
So, if you’re a U2 fan you’ll probably be all over this. If you haven’t got a copy, well yes, I recommend hunting one down along with the other two.
