something i was wondering recently about the title of this tune:

is it called "The Nine" in reference to the Nine enemies of egypt?

Don't get me wrong The nine deserves its place as a top drum & bass tune but for me metropolis by Adam F has the edge.It was produced a good four years prior to the nine and believe me everybody just stood and stared in a what the fuck expression when this dropped.

The Nine is officially one of two tracks (with 1998 "Shape the Future" of Optical) giving birth to a techstep d'n'b branch.
A pure musthave for every DJ regardless of style in d'n'b.

just like alien girl this tracks simplistic elements are what make it so good as they are done with devastating effect. a great track if your out stomping to b-lines or wether your just listening to tunes at home. even greater track to get in the mix as it goes with anything. an absolute classic and a must have for any dnb collection.

'The Nine' is a storming drum and bass tune and was voted the best drum & bass tune of all time on Drum & Bass arena. It is a testament to the darkcore sound and gets played today at every major club night. Using a deep two-step beat and a darkcore, almost 'Jaws' sounding bassline it really does make you stand up and take notice. A tune that many have and many want! Thank you for the re-release.

The nine is a semi-simplistic Dnb song. However, it is one of the best Bad Company tracks I have heard to date, and it deserves "Hall Of Fame Status". I say this because its dark partly-progressive sounding beat is matched perfectly to the ambient and synth noises.
The Dogfight is, as Njorda said, a massively underrated tune which deserves more respect.
Props to BC for releasing the Nine, a tune which can bang in the club no matter whos spinning, or what the genre is, and a tune you can listen to at home.
