I’m not familiar with any of the prior pressings of this album, however, this one is perfect! Definitely seems like it’s the one to own if there is any concern. Embrya is such a smooth listen and I’m so happy with this pressing.

Edited 2 months agoThis is a top notch reissue, wow ! Atmospheric, groovy, sexy neo-soul at its finest. The packaging is just great, the records are flat, and the mastering is perfect : great balance and separation, literally zero surface noise and a rich, warm sound. So happy to own this !

"150gm vinyl sounding like very good audiophile vinyl"
"The white colouring has no detrimental effect on sound quality"
"Very low surface noise"
"Quality three fold gatefold album cover"
Maxwell :Embrya Vinyl LP.
We purchased this on cd "back in the day"(basically means can`t when exactly!) & I`ve always believed that this fabulous album "suffered" because of "Urban hang suite". Yes U.H.S is a great LP but Embrya on vinyl IS BETTER!
It`s understandable that both have their fans & sometimes I just need to hear U.H.S for Ascension(Don`t ever wonder),but if you went a(between the two of them)LP with a driving bassline throughout then it`s "Embrya". It still has all of Maxwell`s silky vocals of course & is very well produced. The mastering on both formats(vinyl & cd)is of a high standard, the remastering to vinyl is ESPECIALLY good as this is not always the way with a cd original release.
Now here is the slight down side with my copy the discs are not "completely flat" but, nothing too intrusive as to be detrimental to the sound quality. The records do come in white paper sleeves but were soon carefully removed, vacuumed washed & placed into new anti static sleeves.
For what these are on sale for new sealed right now (about £36) you get what is to all intent a neo/soul audiophile record - the sound quality is that good in my opinion, highly highly recommended five stars.

Nice double white colored vinyl release for the 20th Anniversary of ‘Embrya’. 150 gram vinyl is flat with no surface noise. Great channel separation. Moved vinyl set from the cheap paper inner sleeves to poly lined sleeves. Liner note and photo booklet were nice touches. Love the trifold album cover!

+1 on the below - this is a solid effort for sure, not the last word in dynamics, but the low end is very well managed - the white vinyl definitely needs a good scrub however, so if you can wet clean that's highly recommended.

Amazing pressing. Great dynamic sound. Also comes on sleek white vinyl. Highly recommend this reissue.
