I have this US pressing. The mastering is pretty flat and compressed sounding. I hear the original UK is the one to get. -
My copy has a different signature that i can't seem to identify on side 1. Maybe an "ro" or "pe"? Regardless, this release sounds wonderful, and whoever cut side 1 did a very good job. -
My copy bought new in 1974 appears to be this one. Many of the matrix info is the same on mine. True on my copy is "Mastered at Capitol" and "Wly" markings on side B ONLY. Matrix / Runout (Side A runout var. 1 etched, "1 ✲" stamped): SO-1-3415-F-27• 1 ✲
Matrix / Runout (Side B runout var. 1 etched, "5 ✲ MASTERED BY CAPITOL" stamped): 2-3415-F-15•• 5 ✲ MASTERED BY CAPITOL WLY - all appears to match my copy for the most part. So I have a variant 1. So is my copy a true first pressing or a second pressing since we know this album sold well and another pressing must have been done pretty soon ??
