Someone just scammed me today selling this for $90 US. They had ratings and a history...Keep an eye out for the fake seller returning here. Discogs caught it same day so thank you to them and PayPal refunded

I had a chance to compare this original pressing with the 2019 US reissue.
I have to it that reissue of this album is a success, but it is still a compressed and loud pressing.
On the other hand, this original sounds damn good! -

Edited 5 years agoReissues of this available now from bands website - basic lp version (no 12" addition) and a box set...
The sound quality on the reissue is a pheonominal success for a reissue. It's leaps and bounds over the CD. Comparable to the original most definitely. Dead silent vinyl buy with confidence.

The band seem to have reissued this LP for sale at concerts, without the bonus 12" record or any stickers appearing on the cover - but using the same barcode. Noticed them at the Glasgow show recently, and the barcode is the same (I scanned it on the app on my phone and it brought me here - despite being a repress).

This pressing (1st press) IS better than the repress in every way including collectibility. If you are going to drop $100 for this lp then definitely go for the OG.
-
I have both the repress and the original, and they sound absolutely identical (on a decent system, Rega RP6, Dynavector 20X2), so don't feel like the original is some sort of holy grail. Print quality/card stock on the sleeves is also very faithful.

Sounds great on vinyl. My copy is a test pressing that is signed by Fran Healy and appears to have been given to "Martin" as a thank you gift.

Nice LP, especially on vinyl. Was shocked to see the prices it goes for now.
Sound quality on vinyl is better than the CD I reckon.
