This seems to be a very quiet pressing. In order to hear it well it needs to be turned up pretty loud which in turn brings the noise floor up to a noticeable level. As others have mentioned, this is tolerable during louder ages, but quite noticeable during quieter moments and between tracks.

Yes it is noisy. Constant hiss that doesn't bother me that much when music plays but it is noticable in quieter parts and between tracks. Couple pops but nothing serious. Rather nice sound quality. Vinyls are flat. Packaging is very simple - no gatefold, basic insert without any photos, graphic liner notes etc (just lyrics). I don't like the idea of messing with cover art - would prefer original artwork (or this funny one with Wain cat). Overall it's fine reissue but previous one ("Swastikas For Noddy") was better done.

I concur - this is a great pressing of a fantastic album. Snap it up now while it's still reasonably priced.

Can anyone say something about the quality of the remaster 2017? Is it better than the 2002/2003 remaster (CD-version) and what about dynamic range? Many thanks in advance.
-
I'm happy with the pressing quality of my copy. Sound is a little bassy, but this might be due to my setup.
-
Anyone have any comments on the pressing quality of this release? Have had mixed results with some other Spheres releases.
