Edited 4 months agoWas concerned it was going to sound bad since it’s 50+minutes crammed into 1 disc. On the contrary, this ended up being one of my best sounding records out of my entire collection. Robert Ludwig really outdid himself on this one.
It has so much bite and punch; “Keep it Together” feels like your speakers are about to explode (in a good way). Superb pressing and probably the definitive version of this album, which I think it’s Madonna’s best work. -
WOW! This pressing sounds incredible and makes the represses a joke. So glad I found a copy and can finally hear the album on vinyl how it was meant be be heard. Its so bright, clear and dynamic. The lows are so full and clear unlike the repress. This is a fantastic pressing!

Just picked up a copy of this with the plastic still on it from my local record store. It STILL smells of patchouli!!!! One of Madonna’s best and a classic 80s album. This vinyl sounds amazing!

I Have Been Listening To This Album For Years But It Only Just Clicked With Me As I Listened To It This Morning And Now I See Why It's Held Up As One Of The Best 80's Pop Albums. It Is One Of Madonna's Very Best Albums And This Wax Sounds Phenomenal. It's Crazy That The Cover Still Heavily Smells Of Patchouli Oil All These Years Later.

Just picked up a thrift store copy for $15, which felt a little steep. After a quick clean I was very pleasantly surprised to discover how amazing it sounds -- and there's still a slight whiff of patchouli! All of my previous experiences with this album were on CD (and skipping around quite a bit). As you might expect, playing the vinyl version reveals a more cohesive production and those non-single tracks don't read as the filler I made them out to be as a teen.

Record still smells of patchouli, a beautiful way to start a conversation about the record. This pressing is also superior to the represses. The lower end is louder, it's more balanced and the songs sound much fuller. The bells in Dear Jessie are noticeable now and simply in the background, which I never even noticed when playing the repress.

Just bought this from here. Got the idea to pick up a 1989 copy after listening to the awful reissue of I'm Breathless and comparing it to the 1990 version which I already had, and noticing how amazing that original release sounded. Mind you, the only versions of Like a Prayer I've ever heard were the 1989 CD and the 2016 vinyl reissue, which was just that CD pressed on wax and sounds very tinny and overall disappointing. Let me tell you that this 1989 vinyl version sounds like a fully remastered version of the album by comparison. Just beautiful! Very glad I got this!

Did the USA pressing come with a hype sticker? I know her debut had two triangle shaped ones, Like a Virgin had one that promoted Material Girl and True Blue had a grey one.
