"The Cost Of Loving" was a double vinyl. At almost 60 minutes "Confessions of a Pop Group" needs to be a double vinyl too. 30 minutes on the B-side is not good for hi-fi audio, "Iwasadoledadstoyboy" is all about a big bassline, and to have proper bass response there need to space in the vinyl grooves (that is after all why the 12 inch single was invented). But this reissue is still delivered as a single vinyl album, which I find surprising.

I got the original UK and sounds great...new vinyl have often pressing issues. Besides, they are digital so why to bother? Get the cd

This is better than the Cafe Bleu one, which was jussssssssst full of sssssssibilancccccce. Not nice. Ive got this on now and apart from a few minor clicks it sounds pretty good. Don’t ask me why but Im not a fan of white vinyl. This is one of the better ones I’ve owned (although, if I’m honest, should I stumble across a cheap original that would replace this like a shot)
I’m definitely not getting the sibilance issues I was getting on the aforementioned. A little bit on DC Lee’s vocal on Gardener. Its a long album too. There’s a lot of music squeezed onto these two sides. And we know how SQ is usually affected if too many tracks crammed on.
So, this will do for now. Are there any good CDs of this album? I used to have the Japanese paper sleeve disk and thought that sounded like it had been recorded from the radio 😯.
5/5. The definition of an underrated album. Only Favourite Shop betters it.
